Bundi is famous for its looming fort, stately palaces, and an incredible collection of stepwells, or baoris, which display unimaginable architectural imagination. The Taragarh Fort is a beautiful hilltop structure of the town and the surrounding Aravalli hill, which is Bundi’s biggest jewel. A beautiful work of Rajput architecture, the Bundi Palace stands adjacent to the fort.

Bundi is also famous for its several stepwells, which are architectural masterpieces and were the source of water in the bygone era. Going south to Pushkar to Ajmer, and then taking National Highway 58 or an equivalent road that leads to NH 52, which goes directly to Bundi.

How to travel the distance?

By Private Car or Taxi – The most versatile and recommended means of transportation. Pushkar makes hiring a private taxi easy. Comfort, privacy and the freedom to stop whenever you need to have a meal, take a photo, or just stretch your legs.

By Bus – The cities within the state are linked by the RSRTC bus network. There may not be as many direct buses from Pushkar to Bundi, but you can typically find buses that have a change, typically in Ajmer. You can take buses connecting to Bundi by hiring an autorickshaw or taking a local bus from Pushkar.

By Train – Pushkar and Bundi are not connected directly by train. Ajmer Junction is some 15 to 20 kms away, the nearest big railway station to Pushkar. Trains run from Ajmer to Bundi Railway Station. It involves taking a swift taxi or autorickshaw from Pushkar to Ajmer, after which you will board a train for Bundi.
